Have you ever met someone that has an amazing passion for something? Well I am a person who is extremely passionate about Massage and the human body!
I truly believe in the power of touch and how much touch can assist our bodies natural ability to heal itself without unnecessary medications or surgery. And I will do what I can and within my scope of practice to continue to assist every person I work on!
It gives me great pleasure to know that I have helped someone free themselves of their discomforts. When I have a person come to me with so much tension and blockage in their bodies that you can literaly see it in their face and knowing that I am about to give them back something they have missed is very exciting. Just seeing their relief after, seeing the movement they have gained, seeing the stress and pain just melt away and seeing that smile and knowing that they will take that great energy into the world. That is why I do what I do!
Being a Massage Therapist allows me to do more then just to help others heal. It allows me to have flexibility with my own family. I like to think how lucky I am to have the office setting of calm, relaxing and stress free. This really is the one job that no one is ever mad to see you at! This is one of those fields that once you enter it your continuously amazed at what you learn and continue to learn years into practicing!
I am a huge believer in the idea that knowledge is power. Thats why every client I work on is not only getting relief through my technique they are also getting educated as to why their body is responding or behaving in specific matter. Why they feel what they feel and why one problem leads to another. I believe that the more you understand why your body is responding the way that it is then subconsciously you'll start heal yourself even deeper. This is why I've named my business Mind & Muscle Medicine, because awareness blended with the power of touch is one of the best forms of medicine you can give yourself.
As a believer in the power of knowledge I too am always looking at ways to continue my own knowledge as an individual and as a Massage Therapist. Currently I am working on my Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science and looking forward to evolving my technique, expanding my services and I hope to become involved in Massage Research someday.
